About
I am a native German translator with near-native fluency in Spanish, excellent command of English, and a strong working knowledge of French. Born and raised in Germany and now based in Spain, I combine deep linguistic expertise with cross-cultural insight to deliver precise, idiomatic, and fully localized translations.
Since 2011, I have been working as a freelance translator, collaborating with leading language service providers such as TransPerfect, RWS (formerly SDL), Lionbridge, and Argos. Over the years, I have built a solid reputation for reliability, consistency, and high-quality output across complex and specialized domains.
My primary specialization lies in the medical field, where I bring more than a decade of experience. I regularly work on a wide range of content, including clinical trial documentation, informed consent forms, patient information leaflets, medical device documentation, regulatory texts, and veterinary materials. I am particularly familiar with the terminology, structure, and compliance requirements of clinical research and healthcare communication.
To further strengthen my expertise, I have completed a certificate course in Basic Medicine for Non-Medical Professionals at APOLLON Hochschule der Gesundheitswirtschaft, followed by an additional three-month training in Medical Writing at the same institution. I am also a member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) and will be attending the upcoming conference in May to pursue the EMWA Essential Certificate, with the goal of expanding my professional focus into medical writing.
In addition, I recently translated the book Blood Works: An Owner’s Guide into German, further deepening my experience in communicating complex medical content in a clear and accessible way.
Alongside my medical work, I have extensive experience in gaming localization. I have contributed to a variety of high-profile titles, including Star Trek Online, MapleStory, Old World, and Conflict of Nations, translating in-game content, user interfaces, and related materials with a strong focus on style, immersion, and user experience.
My academic background supports both my linguistic and technical expertise. I hold a Master’s degree in Software and Multimedia Translation from Universidad Menéndez Pelayo (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation from Universidad de Málaga (2009).
I am highly proficient in industry-standard CAT tools, including Trados Studio, memoQ, Phrase, and XTM, and I am committed to delivering accurate, consistent, and client-focused translations that meet the highest professional standards.
