About
I am a recent graduate from the University of Galway, where I achieved a first-class honours in my Biomedical Science degree. I am pursuing a Master of Science in Science and Health Communication at the University of Dundee, learning to translate scientific research into healthcare solutions.
My experience in Dr. Esther Sammler's lab at the University of Dundee highlighted the importance of patient and public involvement (PPI) in biomedical research, which I hope to integrate into my future work. I have developed a valuable skillset during my degree programme through a variety of initiatives and projects. In particular, I have excellent written and verbal communication skills from writing scientific reviews and delivering presentations on my research. My final year thesis gave me the opportunity to hone my skills in data analysis and interpretation. Additionally, my work as a research assistant at the UG Health Promotion Research Centre (HPRC) has broadened my perspective on the application of healthcare solutions.
I am currently open to opportunities in the biomedical science and healthcare industries to apply my skills in a professional setting and gain experience in medical communication. The technical and transferable skills that I cultivated during my education would make me an asset to any team.
