About

I'm Dr. Ashwini Sharma, a GDC-registered dental surgeon of 28 years, now working as a freelance medical writer.

For over a decade, I led a specialist implantology practice, placing more than 1,000 implants and managing a team of over twenty staff, work that depended on the same discipline my writing now runs on: reading primary literature closely enough to trust it, or to know when not to. Arthritis in my dominant hand brought the surgical side of that career to a close, and after a genuine break, I moved into medical writing at the end of 2025.

Since then I've built a portfolio to the same standard I held myself to in clinical practice, every reference independently verified against its primary source, not just checked for existence. I've delivered real freelance briefs for clients including RB Healthcare, a specialist dental practice, and a GP practice.
