About

My background brings together science, healthcare and communication. Through my BSc in Medical Microbiology and MSc in Infection and Immunity, I developed knowledge across immunology, infection, inflammation, chronic disease, microbiology, antimicrobial testing and immune responses, alongside experience in literature review, data interpretation, scientific writing and presenting complex findings clearly.

Working as a Pharmacy Dispenser at Boots has shown me how important clear healthcare communication is in practice. Patients often need reassurance and straightforward explanations, while pharmacists, GPs and nurses need accurate information, context and timely follow-up. This has reinforced that good medical communication is not just about understanding the science, but knowing how to explain it appropriately for the person in front of you.

My background combines scientific research with direct healthcare experience. This allows me to understand detailed scientific information and consider how it can be communicated effectively to patients, healthcare professionals and wider audiences. Building relationships, asking focused questions and making complex healthcare information clearer and more useful are all aspects of work that I particularly enjoy.

I am now looking to build my career in medical and healthcare communications, with a particular interest in entry-level opportunities across client services, medical writing, medical information and disease awareness. The aim is to combine my scientific background, healthcare experience and communication skills in a role where I can continue learning and contribute to better healthcare communication.
