About
I am a final year MChem student at the University of Sheffield specialising in Chemistry with Biological and Medicinal Chemistry, with a passion for communicating science and scientific writing. During my degree, I have developed strong research, communication and team work skills and I am keen to apply these as an aspiring medical writer.
During my final year, I re-established the departmental magazine following its discontinuation. This was a great insight into the publication process and gave me the opportunity to apply the skills I have learnt in my course to a project which I was passionate about. Prior to this, I was also awarded a studentship under the competitive SURE (Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience) Scheme, where I worked alongside an active research group. From this experience, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of scientific communications and presenting data and information clearly and concisely. Through participating in weekly group meetings, producing posters and formatting data for a written report, I believe that my skillset is ideal for a medical communications setting.
