The Big MedComms Salary & Careers Survey 2027
Effective Date: October 2026
This notice explains how pobl.work ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles answers to The Big MedComms Salary & Careers Survey 2027, run by MedComms.Jobs. It applies only to the survey. Our main Privacy Policy covers the rest of the Platform.
1. In Short
- We don’t ask for your name, email, employer or any contact details.
- Answers are only ever published as group figures, never individually, and never for groups of fewer than 10 people.
- Individual responses are never shared with employers, clients or sponsors, and never used for recruitment or marketing.
- Technical data is removed before analysis, and AI tools help us analyse the cleaned answers.
- Individual responses are deleted from our survey platform within three months of the report being published. We keep only a fully anonymised dataset, to report on annual trends.
2. Who We Are
The survey is run by MedComms.Jobs, a careers website and initiative owned and run by pobl.work ltd. pobl.work ltd is the controller of the survey data. That means we decide how it is used and are responsible for keeping it safe.
Company: pobl.work ltd, registered in England & Wales, Company No. 15461395
Registered address: 4 The Beeches, Hope, Wrexham, LL12 9NX
Contact: tom@pobl.work
3. What We Collect
- a. Your survey answers: your work situation, location, role and level, experience and qualifications, pay and benefits, career history and plans, your views on your employer and the industry, and, if you choose to give them, your gender and any comments.
- b. Technical data recorded automatically by Typeform: your browser and device type, a network identifier, the page you came from, and when you started and submitted the survey. We remove this before analysis.
- c. The campaign link you used: for example a LinkedIn advert or a partner newsletter, so we know which channels work. This is recorded at campaign level only and never identifies you.
4. What We Don’t Collect
We don’t ask for your name, email address, phone number, employer name or any other contact details. We don’t link your answers to your LinkedIn profile or any other account.
Please don’t include your own name, or the names of your employer, clients or colleagues, in the comments box. Please also leave out health or other sensitive personal information. If anything like that slips through, we remove it before analysis.
5. Why We Use Your Answers
- To produce The Big MedComms Salary & Careers Survey report and the interactive salary guide on medcomms.jobs.
- To publish independent benchmarks on pay, benefits, careers and working life in medical communications.
- To report on trends from year to year in future editions of the survey.
6. Our Legal Basis
We rely on legitimate interests: producing independent, industry-wide salary and careers benchmarks that are useful to people working in medical communications and to the organisations that employ them. Taking part is voluntary, and we have designed the survey to collect as little about you as possible.
7. How Results Are Published
Only as group figures, such as the median salary and range for a role, level or location. We never publish individual answers, and we don’t publish figures for any group with fewer than 10 responses. Comments are only ever quoted in anonymised form, with anything that could identify someone removed.
8. Who Handles Your Data
- a. Typeform, which hosts the survey and stores responses on our behalf under its data processing agreement.
- b. AI tools (currently Anthropic’s Claude), which help us clean and analyse the data and summarise comments. They only receive answers after technical data has been removed and names have been taken out of comments.
- c. The small pobl team that runs the analysis.
Individual responses are never shared with employers, clients, sponsors or advertisers, and are never used for recruitment, sales or marketing.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on recognised safeguards for international transfers.
9. How Long We Keep It
- a. Individual responses, including the technical data Typeform records, are deleted from Typeform within three months of the report being published.
- b. A fully anonymised dataset: before deleting individual responses, we create a cleaned dataset with technical data and comments removed, and rare details grouped so that no one can be identified. Because it is fully anonymised, we keep this dataset to report on annual trends in future editions of the survey.
- c. Published results are group figures and are kept indefinitely.
10. Your Rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used.
Because we don’t collect names or contact details, we usually can’t tell which response is yours. That means we may not be able to find or change a specific response once it has been submitted. We only analyse completed responses. To use your rights or ask a question, contact us at tom@pobl.work.
11. Cookies and Links
Typeform uses cookies or similar technology to run the survey and to save your progress if you leave and come back. If you click through to pobl.work or medcomms.jobs from the survey, those websites’ own privacy and cookie policies apply.
12. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or, if you’re in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
13. Changes to this Notice
We’ll update this notice if anything about the survey changes. The “Effective Date” at the top shows the latest version.
