Job Description
Magpie Concept is looking for a highly organised, scientifically curious, and detail-oriented MedComms Catalyst to support our growing medical communications agency.
This is a unique hybrid role combining medical communications support, executive coordination, business operations, and project coordination. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across different areas, from supporting scientific content development to helping manage timelines, client communication, internal coordination, and project delivery.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Magpie Concept team to ensure projects are delivered with accuracy, efficiency, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Communications Support
- Support the development of medical and scientific content, including slides, summaries, meeting materials, reports, and educational resources.
- Assist with literature searches, reference checking, proofreading, and content quality control.
- Help organise scientific information into clear, structured, and engaging formats.
- Ensure content follows agreed briefs, references, formatting requirements, and compliance expectations.
Business Operations Support
- Support internal planning, scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- Help maintain organised records for projects, clients, timelines, and deliverables.
- Assist with client communication and coordination where needed.
- Support smooth communication between internal team members, external partners, and clients.
- Help keep projects moving by tracking actions, deadlines, and required inputs.
Project Coordination
- Help coordinate timelines, deliverables, feedback rounds, and internal approvals.
- Track project progress and flag delays, missing information, or required actions.
- Liaise with writers, designers, suppliers, and clients to support smooth delivery.
- Prepare meeting notes, action lists, and follow-up communications.

Skills & Experience
- Background in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, biomedical sciences, or healthcare.
- Experience in medical writing, scientific content, healthcare communications, project coordination, or executive support is a plus.
- Previous experience in a MedComms agency or medical writing role is preferred.
- Familiarity with invoices, quotations, purchase orders, and basic financial tracking is desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
